AIEEE 2009 Institutes and Information about Central Counselling

The AIEEE 2009 paper could be termed as moderate in terms of level of difficulty. Even the number of questions was reduced from 35 to 30 per section. Thus, candidates had to complete 90 questions in 180 minutes. The total marks for the combined paper was 432. 144 marks were pegged against the collective questions from each section. Marks wise, the paper could be divided like this:

Central Counselling Board’s Rules

As per the direction of the Ministry of HRD 50% of the seats in NITs will be filled from AIEEE eligible candidates of States where NITs are located and rest 50% will be filled on All India Merit basis. MHRD will make efforts to establish NITs for those States/UTs which do not have NITs as of now. In case, the new NITs are not established before the start of admission based on AIEEE 2009, seats will be made available for the eligible students of such States/UTs which do not have any NIT, so as to keep the number of seats for such States/UTs at the level of 2007, after making due adjustment for the number of seats filled by eligible candidates of these States/UTs. A list of the participated institutions will be furnished by Central Counseling Board 2009 at appropriate time which will be available on
CCB website www.ccb.nic.in.

AIEEE 2009 Results

The Aieee2009 results are out and the rank has been awarded. the cutoffs have proved to be right as had been predicted by the honorary websites and blogs. The only thing that has surprised me the most is that was the solutions provided by various independent sources correct. Because in accordance to the FIIT JEE solutions , my brother calculated an aggregate of 284, and in accordance with the Career- Launcher it was 265. But the result has surprised with him getting only 130 marks.
The rank he has got is 70,026 which is in accordance with the predictions of the various sources but was the solution provided on the net wrong.
Or AIEEE has got something more complex as a parametric dependency in the evaluation of the results of this year 2009 AIEEE.
Are we going to witness one of the most bizzare of the events in the world of Indian Education with the CBSE board being its ultimate culprit. Are their any discrepancy in anybody else viewpoint.

3,360 Additional Engg Seats in TN

CHENNAI: This academic year, the government has approved 3,360 additional seats in the government colleges affiliated to Anna University. This
will include 1,200 admissions in the five government engineering colleges to be opened this academic year. Compared to last year, the number of days for counselling has been reduced by 15 days.

Anna University, Chennai, will publish the engineering rank list on June 25 and counselling for admissions to engineering colleges through the single window system will be held from July 5 to August 16.

Higher education minister K Ponmudy told the Secretariat on Tuesday that the government was firm in its opinion that there should not be any hike in the fee structure for engineering courses this year. The (Justice N V Balasubramanian) committee on fee fixation is holding discussions with managements, he said, emphasising that only the committee would fix the fee.

To curb the practice of capitation fees, the government will set up a committee of students, activists and technical staff to supervise the admission process. On the need to include private (deemed) universities under the single window system, the minister said the government would write to the University Grants Commission (UGC) to bring private universities and self-financing engineering colleges under the system.

Stating that there were 354 engineering colleges in the state, he said Anna University, Chennai, had listed 31 colleges affiliated to it as understaffed in the website. Anna Universities in Coimbatore, Tiruchi and Tirunelveli will also come out with a list of colleges whi are lacking infrastructure and staff strength.

Like last year, students travelling in government buses to Chennai for the centralised counselling will have concessions. Students will have the option of paying the fee directly in the colleges or through select nationalised banks, Ponmudy said.

The government has opened over a dozen arts and science colleges heeding the requests of legislators and about five colleges could be opened this academic year. Besides, the state will open one college each in the backward districts with full funding from the Centre. After the shift system was introduced in arts colleges, more students were enrolling in higher education, he said.

Civil Aviation Scholarships of Govt. of India


The Civil Aviation Scholarships of Govt. of India is a scheme for grant of financial assistance to deserving candidates of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe categories. The scholarships are provided for training courses in flying and assist the candidates in acquiring a Private Pilot's License from flying clubs or flying schools.

Eligibility Criteria for the Civil Aviation Scholarships of Govt. of India

In order to avail of the Civil Aviation Scholarship of the Govt. of India, candidates should fulfill the following conditions:

* Candidates should have passed 10 + 2 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects
* Candidates should be aged between 17 to 20 years.
* Candidates should be Indian nationals.
* The family (parents/guardians) income should not be more than Rs.44, 500 per annum.

Duration of Scholarships:

Since it takes a total of 24 months to complete the training for obtaining the Private Pilot's License, the scholarship will be provided during this period, subject to the performance of the candidates.


Value of Scholarships:

* The amount of financial assistance under the scholarship covers living expenses for an amount of Rs.350/- per month for male candidates and Rs.450/ per month for female candidates. This amount can be extended to 15 months at the most.
* A yearly allowance of Rs.100/- towards purchase of books is provided under the scholarship.
* Expenses incurred for obtaining the license and other medical examinations is paid by the Government.

* Second class train fare is provided for the student while reporting for flying training.
* An insurance premium up to Rs.10, 000/- will be covered under the scholarship during the period of training.
