There are a number of parameters that are taken into consideration for B-School Comparisons. Every year thousands of MBA aspirants seek out the best B-schools based on various factors such as ranking of the institution, course curriculum, cost of education, and campus culture among others. B-School Comparisons can be made based on institutions located in different countries. For example, management schools in the United States will be different from the ones in India or some other countries. Furthermore the comparisons in placement procedures as well as admission process for international students are also major determinants in selecting a B-School.

Quality of Education

MBA programs are offered at a number of B-Schools across the world. Each of these schools has their individual approach to imparting education. Based on the quality of education as well as the method of instruction, B-Schools maybe compared. For instance, a lot of stress is laid on practical sessions in a number of management schools in the US and other countries in the west. The education quality of B-Schools is also compared on the basis of how rigorous the entrance test is for a particular institution.

Cost of Education

Cost is a major factor when it comes to making B-School comparisons. In the US, the cost of education in B-Schools differs on the basis of whether it is a private or a public school. In a reputed private B-School in the US, annual tuition fees may range from $15, 000 to $30,000 whereas in a state run B-School the tuition fee can be anything from $10,000 to $ 20,000 per annum. On the other hand in a reputed B-School in India the tuition fees may range from Rs. 2.2 lacs to 5 lacs per annum. Cost of Education is an important determinant for B-School Comparisons.

Placement Opportunity

: Most of the top B-Schools worldwide have active placement cells that invite top companies for campus interviews. In India the IIMs as well as leading B-Schools like XLRI, IIFT, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management and others have excellent placement cells where students get placed in some of the best Multinational companies of the world. The B-School in other Asian countries like Hong Kong and Singapore also has very good placement opportunities. Management schools in countries such as US, France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland have good placement cells.

Admission Procedures:

Procedures for admissions vary from B-Schools in Asians countries to those in the US and various European nations. In India, Common Admission Test (CAT) Scores are used for selection of candidates in some of the top B-Schools. In countries like Hong Kong and the United States GMAT scores are considered for the admission process. Some B-Schools use the online admission procedure while in others; students have to collect prospectus and application from the institution office.

Culture in Campus:

There are vast differences between B-Schools based on the culture in the campus. This includes how students interact among each other, what are the activities students partake in and the general ambience in the campus. In management schools in the west there is plenty of interaction between students from different countries and cultures. In other campuses sports, music, plays and other co-curricular activities play a major part in the life of the students.
