AIEEE 2009 Results 31 May

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

The results of the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination-2009 (AIEEE) are likely to be declared on May 31.

The Director, National Institute of Technology, Warangal YV Rao, speaking to a section of reporters on the sidelines of a press conference held here today, said: ``Earlier, we thought of announcing the results on June 7.

Since we are introducing online counselling for admissions, we thought it would be better to advance the date of announcement of results so that we get more time for the admission process.’’ Incidentally, the NIT Director also happens to be the Chairman of the Central Counselling Board (CCB) for admissions for the academic year 2009-10. The AIEEE examination scores are considered for admission into various bachelor level courses in 20 NITs, IIITs, IIITM, IIITDM, 16 deemed universities and nine central and State government-funded institutions.

Elaborating on the online admission process, the CCB Chairman said access codes along with the results cards would be dispatched to the candidates by June 15. There would be a mock online counselling on the AIEEE website, www.aieee.nic.in, from June 18 to 24 to help the prospective candidates acquaint themselves with the process. ``In the online admission procedure, the students can exercise unlimited options for any course and institute available under the AIEEE purview.

Candidates are required to submit their choices on June 24 and 25. By 5.30 pm on the last day, all the preferences would be locked,’’ he said and added that the admission results would be declared on June 29.

He also informed that unlike the previous years, candidates could go to the nearest NIT and finish their entire admission process. According to the NIT officials, there are around 24,000 seats, including an additional 6,000 seats, for the coming academic year 2009-10.
