Vignan Institute of Technology & Science (VITS) is one of the three engineering institutes run by the well-known Vignan group of Guntur and was established in the year 1999. Vignan Engineering College, Vadlamudi, near Guntur was started in 1997 where as the Vignan Institute of Information Technology at Visakhapatnam came into existence during the academic year 2001-2002.Altogether 1380 seats have been made available to the AIEEE counselling board for the academic session 2009-2010.

VITS is located at Vignan Hills, a sprinting 350 acres land with valleys and watersheds, with mango groves and greening around. It is situated at a distance of 35 kms. from Koti, Hyderabad.

Allotment of Seats (B.Tech) for 2009 - 2010
* 85% - Seats are filled based on the Rank in EAMCET through counseling.
* 15% - Seats are filled based on having a minimum of 50% or more aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in Intermediate or Equivalent exam.
Admission Criteria :
Four Year B.Tech. Courses :
* A Good rank in EAMCET/ECET/Aieee
* NRI students require a minimum of 50% or more in their 10+2 exam, qualification in EAMCET is not mandatory.
Financial Assistance :
* Financial aid may be granted by the Chairman for needy students.
* SC/ST and BC scholarships are granted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as per rule.
Now However its seats have been raised a lot.
And admission is based upon the AIR achieved at the AIEEE.
